ILT 3400 Jan 2020 - Open Educational Practices (6 credits)

This module introduces learners to the OER concept, a novel philosophy to instructional authoring of courseware that will widely supported by a number of reputed organisations throughout the world. The theme of Open educational resources is one of current interest as Educational institutions and organisations around the world have created a movement to promote free access to education. This module anticipates on the UoM innovative stance for promoting courses that respond to the needs of both the 21st Century student and technology-intensive professions. This module will empower students with the indispensable tools and knowledge for greater participation in higher education and beyond while promoting an unavoidable lifelong learning mind-set.

ILT 3001 - Introduction to Educational Research Jan 2020 (6 credits)

This module introduces undergraduate students to the activities that are involved in research, how to proceed, measure progress, and what constitute success. Research is undertaken within most professions. More than a set of skills, it is a way of thinking; it critically examines the various aspects of your professional work. It has the habit of questioning what you do, and a systematic examination of the observed information to find answers with a view to institute appropriate changes for a more effective professional service.


ILT 3000 - New Media in Education (6 LCCS credits)

The history, current practices and future directions of the educational technology field. This module aims at providing students with basic understanding and skills in the field of Educational Technologies.

ILT 3100 - Creative Learning Design (6 LCCS credits)

Creative learning design is about designing learning activities for technology enhanced learning based on sound learning theories. The aim of this module is to ground the use of technology using pedagogical scenarios that evolve from learner needs. Learners will have to think of creative, engaging and outcome-based learning events which they will then incorporate in their classrooms and evaluate to feedback into the design.
